Run by the Friends Rehabilitation Program (FRP), a faith-based organization, the Assisted Living program operates ten permanent housing units for homeless families with an adult who is living with HIV/AIDS. The network of HIV/AIDS and homelessness service organizations makes referrals.
FRP Assisted Living offers housing options from one-bedroom units up to three-bedroom units. Housing units are scattered throughout the city and are owned and operated by FRP. Units are inspected every year to make sure they are up to code. Residents contribute 30% of their income to rent, although this can be reduced if a resident’s income increases above certain levels.
FRP can provide some services to residents of Assisted Living like case management and referrals. Outside organizations offer other services, including volunteer outreach, substance abuse treatment, mental health supportive services, transportation, meals, and clothing.
