Welcome

Welcome to the One Neighborhood blog and newly redesigned website! We listened to your comments about the old site and updated the site to be more user-friendly. We hope you like the new look and find the new site helpful. As always, if you have any questions or comments please contact hello@oneneighborhood.org. This site is set up to be more interactive and easier to navigate. We also added several new features.

  • Google Maps: Now you can view the agencies on a map. You can also search by services, target population, and program type to find specific agencies. The map is a great tool to find exciting programs going on in your neighborhood, and easily locate the building.
  • YouCan: A new section of the website is YouCan. YouCan details three ways for anyone to get involved with fighting homelessness.
    • Donate: Directly from the OneNeigborhood.org website you can donate to several agencies. Also, agencies can sign up to receive donations. All an agency needs is a Paypal account.
    • Wishlist: Agencies can post wishlists of items they need. The lists detail what items are needed, what they are needed for, and who to contact about donating items.
    • Volunteer: You can find out about ongoing and one time volunteer opportunities, and agencies can use the site as a recruitment tool.
  • Newsletter: Once you register for OneNeighborhood.org you can sign up for our weekly newsletter. This newsletter will highlight updates to the site. Agencies will have direct contact with newsletter subscribers and subscribers will stay up-to-date on current news and events in the Philadelphia area.

We have also revamped existing resources like the library, blog, news feed, forum, and events listing. Our goal is to get everyone involved with the site. We want to hear all of the varied voices and perspectives that are a part of the discussion of homelessness in Philadelphia. Feel free to introduce yourself over in the forums or comment here in the blogs. We can't wait to hear from you!
