Trevor's Place

Serving both single women and female-headed households, Trevor’s Place is a community-based shelter in North Philly that houses 60 members of families and 12 singles. The Office of Supportive Housing makes referrals.

Trevor’s Place provides food, shelter, and a variety of services to help residents move forward with their lives. Nutritional education programs are offered every week along with childcare and after-school activities. Life skills programs are coordinated with A Leap Forward and Build-A-Bridge, which provides training in the arts.

Health services, including drug and alcohol abuse and mental health treatment, are available on-site when possible or contracted off-site through local hospitals and universities. The Homeless Advocacy Project also provides legal support twice a month.

Case managers help residents move into transitional or permanent housing. Most clients move on to another housing program in 30-120 days. In addition, both the Community College of Philadelphia and Temple University offer education support to help residents get a GED so that they can secure sustaining employment.
