Project Rainbow

Founded in 1987 by the Sisters of the Holy Redeemer and an entity of Holy Redeemer Health System, Drieding Center/Project Rainbow provides transitional housing and supportive services to homeless women and children.  DC/Project Rainbow's purpose is to ensure that all of our families have the skills and resources necessary to live independently and reach their individual measure of success.  A pioneering, innovative and holistic model of care combining case management and support services is used to enable self-suffciiency.  Supportive services include:

  • A full day, licensed childcare center with Head Start, an after school program, and Yoth Services program.
  • A clinical counseling program with mental health services to mothers and children.
  • Education and employment services featureing the Adult Learning Center and a Family Literacy Enrichment program.
  • After Care program for graduate families.
  • Pediatric health services.
  • Kathryn's Korner Thrift Shop for residents, graduates and community.
Services are provided on-site at the Residential Facility (413 West Master St.) and Community Center (1328 North Fourth St.) to current residents, graduates and community.  The Residential Facility can accommodate up to thirty families and graduates can elect to receive services for up to seven years beyond graduation.  Since 1987, Drueding Center/Project Rainbow has served over 550 families.
